|
Q
|
The
Internet seems slow today, is there anything I can do to speed
things up? |
|
A
|
The
Internet is going through tremendous growth at the moment and
large images, animations and sound files can slow things down.
You should contact your Internet Service Provider (ISP) and
ask them about the speed of their modems, the amount of bandwidth
they acquire, and how this affects you - also check the
speed of your own modem. You ideally should have a modem of
33.6k or better, although 28.8 will still work slowly. Another
possible cause can be the result of opening too many operating
windows while running the Webtrader workstation Trading software.
This can lead to overloading the operating memory
capabilities of your computer. Possible solutions are closing
the additional windows or upgrading your computer hardware.
|
|
Q
|
How can I get high speed Internet connectivity? |
|
A
|
Although
a dial up modem link will work, webtrade.net.au recommends using
a cable modem or ADSL connection. If you're interested in utilizing
a cable modem for your Internet &connectivity, it is suggested
that you check with Foxtel or Optus (or other cable Internet
Service Providers) to see if your residence is in an area which
they service. For ADSL contact Telstra or Optus direct.

|
Q
|
How
do I open a subscription account with webtrade.net.au?
|
|
A
|
Simply
download the most recent version of the Webtrader workstation
software and make sure you are connected to the Internet before
you activate it for the first time. Your account and password
will be supplied to you automatically the first time you log
in. Please make sure you take a note of the password since
it will not be displayed again.
|
|
Q
|
Why
won't the system let me logon? |
|
A
|
It is our experience that the
most common logon problems arise when logon information is
typed incorrectly. Logon passwords are case sensitive for
your protection and should be verified as such when
experiencing logon failure. Check your Num Lock and Caps Lock
keys to make sure you are entering your password in the correct
case. It is also possible that you may have come to
the end of your free trial period (of 10 hours over a maximum
of two weeks). At this stage you would need to open
an account with webtrade.net.au to continue to use the software.
