| Download.
Open your internet browser (Internet Explorer or Netscape Navigator which ever one you use) and against Address: type www.webtrade.net.au This will take you to our website. Choose Webtrader Workstation from the menu bar. You will get a further menu with Downloads. Click on that and another page will open. On that page click on Full Installation Download or Multiple Charting Full Installation Download depending on your operating system or charting requirements . You may then get a screen telling you some files can harm your computer (depending on what your computer is running.) Either choose the Save option there or the Save this file to disk option if you see that instead. Another window will open - asking you where to save it. Choose Desktop from the options. The program will then download (this will take a few minutes) and you will end up with an icon on your desktop labelled SetupWebtrader.exe Install. Double click on the icon labelled SetupWebtrader.exe and it will say "This will install Webtrader on your system. Do you want to continue?" Say yes or next to everything it asks you as it installs. If this is a first time installation, during the installation it will give you an account number and password. Please make a note of the password as it is only given once during the installation. If it is an upgrade from a prior version of Webtrader, it will use your current account number and password. At the end it will ask you if you want to launch the program. Again say yes. Running Webtrader. Launch the program (see above) will start Webtrader for you and you will need to log in using the password you have been allocated. (The account number is displayed in the login screen for you.) Once you have logged in, the Watch Page window will open and you will see a watchlist with a few sample stocks. You are then ready to add or delete products as you wish. Help File. Information pertaining to the program is contained in the Help file which can be accessed via the Menu bar or F1. We suggest that first time users read the sections on the WatchPage and Charting Toolbars first as they contain enough information to get up and running in the least amount of time. Creating a shortcut to Webtrader on your desktop. Right click on the Start button and choose Explore. Windows Explorer will open in a new window, near the top of which you will see a blank line with the word Address to the left of it and perhaps a little yellow folder. (if this box is not blank - simply type over what ever text is in there). In this box type C:\Program Files\Webtrader (exactly as typed here) and press enter. A list of files will appear in the right hand column of the explorer window. Scroll down on the right hand side till you see a file called webtrader16.exe or webtrader32.exe - it will have the green and blue chevron icon next to it. If you are running XP, right click on this file and from the pop up menu choose Send to and then Desktop (create shortcut). If not then: Resize the explorer window (with box on the top right menu between the _ and X options) till you can see both the window and some of the icons on your desktop at the same time. (If you need to you can hover the mouse over the corner of the explorer window - (the white arrow will turn to a little double headed black arrow) and when the black arrow is showing you can left click and drag the window to a smaller size so you can see some desktop ) Right click on the Webtrader.exe file and holding it down, drag the icon over to your desktop somewhere. When you let go it will open an options box and ask if you want to copy, move or create a shortcut... Choose the create shortcut option and it will create a shortcut to Webtrader Workstation on your desktop. You can then move it to where you want by left clicking, holding it down, and dragging it to the preferred position. You will then be able to launch the Webtrader software by double clicking on this icon. |
